Mother Therapy was developed based on the Theory of Mimind. In the process of developing the Theory of Mimind, the
operational mechanism of human mind and psychology was discovered, and in the process, it was also discovered that human
beings go through four phases of psychological development in their lifetime. They were defined as the phase of survival,
adaptation to relationships, formation of self-identity, and self-actualization. Each phase was found to have their own unique
standards of happiness, and it was also found that children develop psychological problems when the standards of happiness
are not adequately satisfied.
It was verified through many years of counseling and researching on family and marriage issues that children at each
developmental phase have different standards of happiness, and the operational mechanism of children's mind and psychology
is different from that of adults. It was also verified that children's psychological problems could be easily solved when the
principles of psychological development based on the Theory of Mimind were adopted. Especially, it was discovered that
children's relationship with parents were crucial for their psychological stability. To be more specific, mother's feelings of love
were found to have a powerful influence on children's psychological conditions and healthy psychological development.
Children's psychological problems could be effectively solved by mothers activating maternal love in a true sense in effective
ways.
Based on the findings of theoretical analyses and clinical results, a program that trains mothers to learn about and adopt the
effective methods of stabilizing children's psychology was developed, which resulted in the program of Mother Therapy. It was
developed so that mothers can stabilize their own children's psychology without any professional help, any knowledge on
psychology, or any need for counseling or other intervention methods. Mother Therapy was designed to require only mother's
ability to interact with children in adequate ways, which all mothers are capable of, and to make all mothers experts of
managing children's healthy psychological growth.
Mother Therapy is considered to be one of the most powerful treatment and prevention methods of psychological problems of
children. It proposes a new paradigm in the research and practice of child psychology by providing mothers with abilities to deal
with all psychological problems that may occur in children's developmental process. This innovative treatment and prevention
method of child psychology is expected to free many families from predicaments and futile efforts, and set a new trend in the
field of child psychology.
